National Cancer Institute of Canada Full Cover
Hey Everyone,
It has been quite a while since I got to blog anything. My internship has been keeping me busy.
A few months ago I did a photoshoot for the National Institute of Canada, highlighting Geralyn Hansford. My photos were used on the cover and a full page spread. See my gallery for the other photo that was used.

Evo 9
Hey Everyone,
It has been quite a while since I got to put any blogs in. I have been quite busy with my field placement in social work and client photos. Last weekend's wedding went great and this weekend I managed to drop by the Targa Autocross Charity event to take some photos of some nice cars. The one you see here is the first Mitsubishi Evo to ever hit the Newfoundland shoreline. Dear I say I was jealous just watching it?
The Autocross event went great. Lots of people were in attendance with alot of competitors offering their cars for the sake of the charity.
I will try and get back to the blogging asap. I've got quite a few new photos to go through.

Hosta Droops
Well summer is officially over after this weekend. The difference is this fall I won't be going back to class, rather I am starting my first internship as a social worker with Child Youth and Family Services. To say it in three words, I am pumped. I cannot wait to start.
In the meantime I have had some wonderful photoshoots in the past few days. I decided this weekend I would photograph a few flowers so here is the first of a few I hope. This is the remenance of a Hosta plant in my parents backyard.

The Cuteness
Well I have been waiting for the right baby portrait to enlarge. I did a photoshoot with the Cousins last week and here is the candidate for the enlargement. This is their daughter Erin was taking a break from the photos to smell the flower in her hand.
Besides that I have been busy processing and getting photo packages to my clients. I am still awaiting, like many others, the pricing on the newest round of Nikon camera bodies.

2007 Humanitarian of the Year
Whats up? I have been quite busy the past week so I am in the process of answering all of the emails. Be patient, I am working my way through them.
In the midst of all this excitement, Nikon has went ahead and released two brand new camera bodies that has the photography community buzzing. The D300 certainly has me excited, but unfortunately you cannot even pre-order it yet. Good things come to those who wait I say.
In the meantime, I had the pleasant opportunity to photograph the 2007 Canadian Red Cross Humanitarian of the Year, Charlotte Courage of St. John's, Newfoundland. Charlotte is also a social work student like myself. Her actual award will be done at the annual awards Gala at the Delta Hotel, St. John's, Newfoundland.

Lonely Stage
Hey Everyone,
What an interesting weekend. This weekend we photographed a wedding in Popes Harbour, a re-settled community from decades ago. After travelling to Clarenville, we headed for Random Island. Once on Random Island we went right to the end to a community called "Petley". It was a beautiful area but this was only the start of it.
Once we were offloaded the photo gear from the car, we boarded a beautiful passenger boat called "The Tuckamore". Decked out in hardwood, and pillows it makes for a pleasant ride. The captain boat was chartered for the Manuel Wedding that we were going to photograph. Saturday was a dead calm on the water as we took over an hour to sail up the coastline to Popes Harbour.
Popes harbour is a re-settled community that has no paths, no proper electricity and only outhouses for creature comforts. Besides that there are only people. But the people are not your normal folk, they are nicest, most friendly type of Newfoundlanders you can imagine. Opening their boats and bottles to anyone that was around.
Once "The Tuckamore" had docked, we proceeded to got into a smaller fishing boat to travel to the church. Yes, you read that right, we went to the Chapel in an open fishing boat. Quite interesting, and a first for us.
The Church is a newly constructed building that had not been used before the Manuel Wedding. This was no 300+ seat church, with only 40 people sitting and plenty were still standing in the doorway. The ceremony went off without a hitch and a hail of Rice and Fireworks followed.
Around the reception and ensuing jamboree on the dock, and boats, and shoreline, we left Popes Harbour and headed back for Petley. After the boat ride we were quite exhausted from all the travelling lately and we decided to stay in Clarenville for the night.
This brings us to the next interesting point in our Journey. We usually head to a hotel when we are on business but this time we wanted to try a Bed and Breakfast. So enter the Beamont Bed and Breakfast owned and operated by Jeff. The owner clearly was an ex-architect( self-admitted) who had designed the B&B with a very modern designer touch. The beds were great and his hospitality was extraordinary. I would recommend visiting Jeff anytime you are in the Shoal Harbour/Clarenville area.
Jeff has established the first fine art gallery in the Clarenville area as well as a play theatre complex at the White Hills Ski resort. Lets hope we hear more information on this venture soon.
The next day we got up and photographed the Crewe's 50th wedding anniversary in "Mahers". Note that it is not pronounced "May-ers" but instead it is pronounced "Mars".

Rugged Shoreline
Hey Everyone,
I have been quite busy in the past week. I took a trip to Bell Island as a true tourist. Well it was a great time and I got some fantastic photographs. I wish I could have explored the mines further than what I did, but I can imagine it would be quite dangerous.
Here is a rock formation on the south side of Bell Island. To the right is Bell Island's lighthouse which was moved because of the decay you see in this photo.

The Happy Couple
Hey Everyone, the day finally came and went. What a great time! I am pleased to say that the day went as smooth as possible. Although I was not the main photographer for my brothers wedding, I did manage to take a few photos here and there when I had time and when the main photographer was busy with the Bride and Groom.

Red Harbour
Well here is the first of many that I have processed since I have been off the Avalon. It was a very common swimming hole when I was a teenager.
The weather looks like it will be fine for the wedding on Saturday so I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Cougar
Hey everyone, I hope your week has been good. I got the chance to get out and photograph some vehicles this past week as you can see in my portfolio. The weather has been astonishing. 32 degree days have made for staying out later to get certain shots easier.
To the right is a Newfoundland local car who goes by the name Newcougar. I have to say it is quite the car. Not only does it have the looks, it has quite the audio setup inside from front to back.
My brothers wedding is in a few days so I am busily preparing for that. I have the opportunity to do some photos outside of the Avalon so it should be challenging/fun.

Kitty Kitty
Hey Everyone, I have not gotten a good chance to get out to do new photos for the past week or two. I have been catching up on processing for my Canadian Institute for Cancer Research photoshoot and some other clients. I am hoping this weekend I will get out if the weather holds off.
On the other hand, I was out for some supper and saw this little kitten in the pet store. Although the photo reflects imprisonment, he was actually having quite the time with two other kittens.

Courtney
Hey Everyone, I have been quite busy the last little while. Yesterday I did a photoshoot for National Cancer Institute of Canada. The subject had a great time as did myself and Courtney. Her story is very interesting. I will have a link to this when the photos are published. Its good to think that the photos I did will help educate others across the country.
I also picked up some new gear and tested it out on the photo you see here. I am also in the midst of creating some new props for baby portraits. Stay tuned for the results!

The Happy Couple
Meet Zach and Roxanne. I would like to introduce you to the most recent couple who I have done their engagement photos done by me. I had such a great time working with them and Zeus. Now, I bet you are wondering who Zeus is. He is actually a dog, and a large sook at that. Did I say large? He is close to 120 pounds I can imagine. But let me tell you that you will not find a nicer dog.
I must say that I enjoyed doing the photos with Zach, Roxanne and Zeus. Getting to roll around in the grass to capture Zeus's expression was funny on everyones part.

The Crown
Hey Everyone,
It has been a little while since I posted again. I've been busy with work and photography so the blog has not been getting as much attention. I've been pretty busy with photos and I can't wait for the rest of the summer to meet more clients.
Saturday I helped a friend move out of his house and I think I may have twisted the wrong way. So last weekend I was confined to the house to do some photo ideas I have had in my mind.
